VA Cracks Down On Puppy Mills?

A bill is making it's way through the VA legislature that would impose licensing, inspection, and safety provisions on puppy mills in VA. This legislation was partly inspired by the 2007 fire at Dogwood Kennels in VA that killed 200 dogs. Dogwood Kennels is the puppy mill that Ginger was rescued from.

Although it's difficult to get details from a newspaper story, this seems like a good bill. The restrictions listed should not affect small breeders at all while providing some much-needed oversight to the large operations. I hope it passes.
