Doomed dogs get on the rescue wagon to other shelters

You know, for a newspaper that caters to a clientele who like colorful graphs, USA Today's coverage of animal-related issues is pretty darn good. Today's article on animal rescue transport is a very good primer.

If you'd like to get involved in rescue transport, here are some easy ways to get started, and you don't have to drive thousands of miles either - even a 50 mile journey can make a huge difference, and there are animals in need of transport all over the country.

I have always loved this photo. That dog is about to hijack your vehicle and transport all of the dogs inside to doggie paradise.
